1. Motion Hatcher, seconded by Dunahee to approve the Consent Agenda: Minutes of the previous meeting, June 17, 2024, Bills, Activity Account Statements, Treasurer’s Report, the appointment of Hollie Brooks as administrator for Teachers Retirement System for the 2024-25 school year. Roll call: Unanimous

UNFINISHED BOARD BUSINESS

Recognized HS State Tennis Qualifier, Ollie Collins; HS State Track Qualifier, Braxton Huddleston; and HS Bass Club State Qualifiers, Draven Taylor and Lance Weidner.

NEW BOARD BUSINESS

1. Motion Dunahee, seconded by Harris to approve keeping the Executive Session minutes for January 2024 through June 2024 closed and destroying the eligible verbatim recordings. Roll Call: Hatcher, yes; Harris, yes; Wiley, yes; Dunahee, yes.

2. Motion Harris, seconded by Hatcher to approve the revisions to the Employee Handbook for the 2024-2025 school year. Roll Call: Wiley, yes; Harris, yes; Dunahee, yes; Harris, yes.

3. Motion Dunahee, seconded by Hatcher, to suspend the regular meeting at (5:50 p.m.) to conduct public hearing for the renewal of the E-Learning plan in accordance with Section 10-20.56 of the School Code (105 ILCS 5.10-20.56). Roll Call: Wiley, yes; Harris, yes; Dunahee, yes; Hatcher, yes.

4. The Board of Education held a public hearing for the renewal of the E-Learning plan in accordance with Section 10-20.56 of the School Code (105 ILCS 5.10-20.56) Motion Hatcher, seconded by Harris to return to regular meeting at (5:52 p.m.) Roll Call: Hatcher, yes; Dunahee, yes; Harris, yes; Wiley, yes.

5. Motion Wiley, seconded by Hatcher, to approve the renewal of the E-Learning plan for the 2024-2025 school year in accordance with Section 10-20.56 of the School Code (105 ILCS 5.10-20.56). Roll call: Harris, yes; Wiley, yes; Hatcher, yes; Dunahee, yes.

6. Motion Harris, seconded by Dunahee, to approve on first reading revisions to Board policies: 2:70, 2:125, 2:160, 4:15, 4:40, 4:70, 4:80, 4:140, 5:130, 5:180, 5:200, 5:285, 5:310, 6:110, 6:140, 6:150, 6:230, 7:170. Roll Call: Wiley, yes; Dunahee, yes; Hatcher, yes; Harris, yes.

7. Committee Reports: Superintendent Hackney reported that tentative committee dates for the 2024-2025 school year have been established and committee meetings will be held beginning in August and September.

8. Administrator Reports:

Hackney-Highlighted that registration will be on-line again this year and Teacher Institute on August 13th and 14th with first student attendance day on August 15th. The keynote speaker on the morning of August 13th will be Matt Thoman and he will address Flora, North Clay, and Clay City staff.

9. Motion Hatcher, seconded by Harris, to approve the following volunteer coaches: High School Football: Corben Roth, Caden Borcherding; High School Basketball: Owen Leib, Curtis Leib, Loren Holloway; High School Boys Track: Owen Leib, Jan Thompson, Louie Lusk, Jeffrey Mitchell; High School Girls Track: Angie Scott, Jessica Pieplow; High School Volleyball: Tonya Behnke; High School Golf: Tom Welch and Landon Carder; HS Girls Tennis: Jerry Stringer, Chuck Buchanan, Whitney Cox, Carmen Lewis, Lanie Carder, Gracey Himelick; HS Boys Tennis: Jerry Stringer, Clayton Plumlee; JH Baseball: Nick Schafer, Jeffrey Gaither; JH Softball: Mark Wiley, Emma Kitley. 10. Motion Dunahee, seconded by Wiley, to approve Alan Tolliver as 7th grade boys’ basketball coach for the 2024-2025 season. Roll Call: Harris, yes; Hatcher, yes; Dunahee, yes; Wiley, yes.

11. Motion Wiley, seconded by Harris, to accept the resignation submitted by Jenna Snyder effective June 24, 2024. Roll Call: Hatcher, yes; Wiley, yes; Harris, yes; Dunahee, yes.

12. Motion Dunahee, seconded by Hatcher, to approve Rendell Flood as assistant high school football coach for the 2024 season. Roll Call: Harris, yes; Hatcher, yes; Dunahee, yes; Wiley, yes.

13. The Board acknowledged receipt of FMLA leave request from Taylor Borah beginning October 11, 2024.

14. Motion Harris seconded by Hatcher, to employ Gauge Mayberry as elementary custodian effective July 15, 2024. Roll Call: Wiley, yes; Hatcher, yes; Dunahee, yes; Harris, yes.

15. Motion Dunahee, seconded by Harris, to employ Molly McNeely as paraprofessional at Flora Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year. Roll Call: Hatcher, yes; Wiley, yes; Harris, yes; Dunahee, yes.

16. Motion Hatcher, seconded by Wiley, to employ Lauren Lehman as paraprofessional at Flora Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year. Roll Call: Harris, yes; Wiley, yes; Dunahee, yes; Hatcher, yes.

17. Motion Dunahee, seconded by Hatcher, to employ Mallory Whitt as elementary teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Roll Call: Harris, yes; Dunahee, yes; Hatcher, yes; Wiley, yes.
