Edgar County Community Unit School District 6 Board of Education met Jan. 16.

Jim Spesard called the Regular Meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

Roll Call:

Members Present: Jim Spesard, Cody Denton, Reed Nolen, Shelley Good, Cristie Thevenin and John Rogers

Members Absent: Dennis Tingley

Correspondence: None

Public Comment: Darren Loschen introduction

John Rogers moved to approve previous minutes for December. Cristie Thevenin seconded. All members voted aye- motion approved.

Voting aye: Jim Spesard, Shelley Good, Reed Nolen, John Rogers, Cristie Thevenin and Cody Denton

Voting nay: None

Reed Nolen moved to approve financial matters and imprest fund reimbursement of $4622.36. Cristie Thevenin seconded. All members voted aye - motion approved.

Voting aye: Jim Spesard, Reed Nolen, John Rogers, Shelley Good, Cristie Thevenin and Cody Denton

Voting nay: None

Reed Nolen moved to approve the 24-inch floor scrubber purchase from E-Z Clean for $ 8,870.35. Shelley Good seconded. All members voted aye - motion approved.

Reed Nolen moved to approve the release of executive session minutes records from July of 2023 through December of 2023, as well as the destruction of verbatim records of closed sessions prior to July 2022. Cristie Thevenin seconded. All members voted aye-motion approved.

Reed Nolen moved to adjourn Regular Session at 7:15 p.m. Jim Spesard seconded. All members voted aye-motion approved.

Jim Spesard called the Executive Session to order at 7:15 p.m.

Shelley Good moved to adjourn Executive Session at 7:51 p.m. Reed Nolen seconded. All members voted aye-motion approved.

Jim Spesard called Regular Session back to order at 7: 52 p.m.

Cody Denton moved to approve a three-year contract for Darren Loschen as full-time superintendent, beginning FY 25, contingent upon successfully completing a background criminal/sex offender screening. Cristie Thevenin seconded. All members voted aye-motion approved.
