City of Arcola City Council met Jan. 2.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
Mayor Garza called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Helmuth, Becerra, Budd, Foran and Hensley. City Administrator Wagoner and Treasurer Anderson were also present. Alderman Henson and Attorney Bequette were not present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Alderwoman Helmuth led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT There was none.
APPROVAL OF DECEMBER 18, 2023 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
Alderman Hensley moved to approve the December 18, 2023 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderwoman Helmuth. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF DECEMBER 16, 2023 THROUGH DECEMBER 29, 2023 BILLS
Alderman Foran moved to approve the December 16, 2023 – December 29, 2023 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Becerra. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE TREASURER’S REPORT FOR DECEMBER 2023
Alderwoman Helmuth moved to approve the Treasurer’s report for December 2023 and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE DECEMBER ZONING OFFICER’S REPORT
The Zoning Officer reported 1 building permit issued in the month of December with valuation of $925,000 and fee in amount of $3,700 collected. Alderman Foran moved to approve the December Zoning Officer’s report as presented and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
REPORT FROM THE PLANNING COMMISSION
The Planning Commission met December, 21, 2023, reviewed and recommended the council approve an application from Tabeling Development Co./Reserve Arcola LLC to rezone property located at 905 Green Mill Road from B-2 to R-4/Special Use for PUD Multi Family Development. Alderman Foran moved to accept the recommendation of the Planning Commission and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
REPORT FROM THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
The Zoning Board of Appeals met December 21, 2023 reviewed and recommended the council approve a request from DGOG of Arcola for a variance for non-conforming setback at property located at 520 E. Springfield Rd. Alderman Budd moved to accept the recommendation of the Zoning Board of Appeals and was seconded by Alderman Becerra. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
There were no committee reports.
As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderman Becerra moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
