Village of Arthur Police met Committee July 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

A Police Committee Meeting was held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, in the Village Board Room. President Randall called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Present were Isai Gutierrez, President Randall, and Police Chief Goodman. 

Public Comment 

Colt Heston was the only visitor present. 

New Business 

1. President Randall noted the need for an Executive Session to discuss the openings and a candidate for the Police Department. Executive Session was entered to discuss the hiring of Police Department personnel. Executive Session (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1).) The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body. 

After closing the Executive Session, no action was taken in the regular Police Committee meeting. 

2. A second Executive Session was entered into to discuss current Police Department personnel. Executive Session (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1).) The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body. 

After closing the Executive Session, no action was taken in the regular Police Committee meeting. 

General Discussion 

  • Chief Goodman reported the lasted information regarding the K-9 Police car as it is being changed into a regular Police car. Much of the work has been successfully completed, but there are a few problems with the electronics and door handles that are being looked into.

  • The meeting was adjourned at 6:34 pm.
