City of Villa Grove Committee of the Whole City Council met Jan. 23.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

CALL TO ORDER - ROLL CALL

The City Council of the City of Villa Grove met in the regular Committee of the Whole session on January 23, 2023, in Council Chambers. Mayor Eversole-Gunter called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. Roll call found the following members present: Alderman Johnson, Garrett, Pangburn, Hooker. Aldermen Blaney and Cheely were absent. City Administrator Athey, Clerk Osborne, and PW Director Mixell were also present.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Mayor stood and led all attendees in The Pledge of Allegiance. PUBLIC COMMENTS - Wade Lorenz introduced himself. He is the candidate for Ward 3 in the upcoming election.

CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT - Jacki Athey stated: Budget calendar is almost done. Police Union contract updates have been reviewed by Bob and Jacki for the 1st draft. She spoke with IL AW on the project work for updates. She is working on the Tri-City Country Club annexation. Richman Park-we will keep ownership of the lines there.

DEPARTMENT REPORTS - Public Works: Director Mixell said the new shop is enclosed and the concrete will be next. Quotes for the old shop for insulation will be coming in soon.

MAYORAL REPORT - The Mayor had no updates.

BUSINESS

1. Other items brought before the Council for discussion-no other items discussed.

CLOSED SESSION: No Closed Session.

ADJOURNMENT-With no further business, Alderman Hooker motioned to adjourn the meeting at 6:22 p.m. Alderman Garrett seconded the motion. Roll Call: Alderman Johnson, yea, Garrett, yea, Pangburn, yea, Hooker, yea. Motion carried.
