City of Martinsville City Council met June 22

City of Martinsville City Council met June 22.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

*The meeting was called to order by Mayor Davidson. Alderman Lovell led us in Prayer. All in attendance recited the “Pledge of Allegiance.” Roll call was answered by the following council members and elected officials: Chris Davidson, Chris Perry, Melinda Lovell, Troy Propst, and Ashley Wilhoit. Treasurer Terri Connelly was absent. Also, in attendance were Mayor Herman Davidson, Clerk Jana Akers, and Attorney Richard Bernardoni. Employees and citizens in attendance are attached to the back of the minutes.

Public Comments:

--Motion by T Propst 2nd by C Perry for approval of minutes from the 06/08/22 city council meeting Upon roll call vote all alderman present voted for the motion (6).

--Motion by A Wilhoit 2nd by M Lovell for new banners at City Hall in the amount of $950 with no windmill from Wolfe’s signs and graphics

Upon roll call vote all alderman present voted for the motion (6)

--Motion by C Davidson 2nd by A Wilhoit for approval of new phone system at New City Hall in the amount of $3,256.50 from Flat Rock

Upon roll call vote all alderman present voted for the motion (6)

Mayor Davidson:

--Shannon to check on the new elevator

--New gutter completed along Mill Street-the mix came out of Effingham

--Changing Hands moving football and basketball team helping

C Davidson:

-trees to be planted

--Fire Dept talking about a cruise in

--Howell Paving to rent old city hall for $1,000.00 a month

J Skinner:

--gutters on Mill look good and are working well

A Wilhoit:

--asked about applications received and stated the gutters on Mill look great

-Motion by A Wilhoit 2nd by M Lovell to adjourn meeting at 7:24 pm
