Arcola City Council met May 2.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
Mayor Garza called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Budd, Hensley, Smith and Garza. Aldermen Becerra and Foran were not present. City Administrator Wagoner, Treasurer Anderson and Attorney Bequette were also present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderman Budd led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT There was none.
APPROVAL OF APRIL 18, 2022 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Alderman Hensley moved to approve the April 18, 2022 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF APRIL 15, 2022 THROUGH APRIL 29, 2022 BILLS Alderman Smith moved to approve the April 15, 2022 – April 29, 2022 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Garza. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE TREASURER’S REPORT FOR APRIL 2022 Alderman Garza moved to approve the Treasurer’s report for April 2022 and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE APRIL ZONING OFFICER’S REPORT The Zoning Officer reported 2 permits issued in the month of April with valuation of $94,800 and $145 in fees collected. Alderman Smith moved to approve the April Zoning Officer’s and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE PAYMENT NO. 1 FOR THE ARCOLA-TUSCOLA JOINT WATER AGENCY WATER MAIN PROJECT – B & T DRAINAGE -- $366,619.82 Alderman Budd moved to approve Payment No. 1 for the Arcola – Tuscola Joint Water Agency water main project – B & T Drainage in amount of $366,619.82. Alderman Smith seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE THE BID AWARD FOR 2022 WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT Alderman Budd moved to approve Bid Award for 2022 Water Main Replacement Project to B & T Drainage in amount of $77,670. Alderman Garza seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE RESOLUTION NO. 22-R-8, A RESOLUTION COMMITTING ARPA FUNDS FOR WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT -- $77,670 Alderman Hensley moved to approve Resolution No. 22-R-8 and was seconded by Alderman Garza. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE ARCOLA COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT – MOORE PARK Alderman Budd moved to approve Intergovernmental Agreement with the Arcola Community School District – Moore Park. Alderman Smith seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 22-S-4, A TIF
REDEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WITH THE ARCOLA SCHOOL DISTRICT Alderman Garza moved to approve Ordinance No. 22-S-4 and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderman Hensley moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
