Current state senator and gubernatorial candidate Darren Bailey (R-Xenia) believes voters in Illinois can shift the political climate from blue to red, and he is the man to help make that transition.
Bailey responded to the question of whether it was possible to turn the state red on Twitter on Monday.
"We can and we will," Bailey said. "Join our movement to reform Springfield and restore Illinois. It's time to put working families and taxpayers first."
Bailey shared a Twitter post with a link to an article written by Steve Cortes, who called Bailey "the America First leader to replace the disastrous J.B. Pritzker (D-Ill.)."
Bailey has routinely called himself the only true conservative currently running for the Republican nomination. He has stressed his support for former president Donald Trump, according to Prairie State Wire. He encouraged voters to educate themselves on the issues the state is facing so that they "understand what's going on because we have an amazing state here in Illinois," Prairie State Wire reported.
Illinois Family Action (IFA) endorsed Bailey in late April after several months of researching candidates running for governor. IFA said in a press release that the organization was thrilled to reveal its support for the candidate.
