Arcola City Council met April 4.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
Mayor Garza called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Smith, Garza, Becerra, Budd, Foran and Hensley. City Administrator Wagoner, Treasurer Anderson and Attorney Bequette were also present.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderman Smith led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT Bob Dowler of the VFW American Legion requested permission to burn American flags on May 06th. They have done this in the past. The council saw no issue with this.
APPROVAL OF MARCH 21, 2022 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Alderman Hensley moved to approve the March 21, 2022 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderman Garza. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF MARCH 19, 2022 THROUGH APRIL 01, 2022 BILLS Alderman Foran moved to approve the March 19, 2022 – April 01, 2022 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE TREASURER’S REPORT FOR MARCH 2022 Alderman Becerra moved to approve the Treasurer’s report for March and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF THE MARCH ZONING OFFICER’S REPORT The Zoning Officer reported 3 permits issued in the Month of March with valuation of $634,100 and fees in amount of $412.40 collected. Alderman Foran moved to approve the March Zoning Officer’s report as presented and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 22-S-1, TIF REDEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WITH THE ARCOLA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT – AMBULANCE FACILITY Alderman Foran moved to approve Ordinance No. 22-S-1 and was seconded by Alderman Hensley. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Alderman Smith Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Garza Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Becerra Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Budd Had nothing at this time.
Alderman Foran Reported the Park, Street & Alley Committee met prior to this meeting and received an update on park project by Mike Buzicky of MSA. Also received follow up on 4most Sports Recommendations for baseball and softball fields. Bill gave update on street lighting and discussed honorary street sign for Shraders.
Alderman Hensley Reported the Budget & Finance Committee met prior to this meeting and discussed the FY 23 budget draft. Also discussed water & sewer rate increases, update on health insurance renewal and quotes and allocating business district funds for public infrastructure projects.
As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderman Hensley moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Becerra. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
