Dr. Mulligan reported that there has been a significant increase in the number of cases and staff and students quarantined. Staff has been filling in absences and making due, but there has been a lot of disruption. Dr. Mulligan recommended using emergency days on Friday and Monday to hopefully stop the spread. Athletics and extra-curricular activities will take a pause during the short break as well. Dr. Mulligan also explained that there have been changes in the guidance issued by the IDPH and DCHD. Included in the new guidance is a shortened quarantine period of five days, with an additional five days of strict masking. Another change Dr. Mulligan would like to add would be to test individuals, regardless of vaccination status, if a member of their household tests positive before they would be allowed to return. Lastly, Dr. Mulligan reminded the board that decision of whether or not to go through the RFP process for bank depository would be discussed at next month’s regular meeting.
