Report: Palestine School District spent $12,102 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Palestine Community Unit School District 3 was up 39.1 percent from five years ago, according to the East Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Crawford County school district spent $8,698 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,102 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 336 to 297 students over the same period.

Palestine's spending in 2019-20 was 16.5 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
