Report: Cumberland School District spent $9,340 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Cumberland Community Unit School District 77 was up 9.7 percent from five years ago, according to the East Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cumberland County school district spent $8,515 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,340 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,040 to 1,037 students over the same period.

Cumberland's spending in 2019-20 was 35.6 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
