Report: Clay City School District spent $8,174 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Clay City Community Unit School District 10 was down 12.7 percent from five years ago, according to the East Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Clay County school district spent $9,364 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $8,174 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 314 to 328 students over the same period.

Clay City's spending in 2019-20 was 43.6 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
