City of Altamont City Council met Oct. 25.

The Council of the City of Altamont met in regular session at 6:00 pm, in the Council Room of the Municipal Building. The following members were present: Mayor Jason Rippetoe; Commissioner Dan Milleville; Commissioner Tayler Polk; Commissioner Mike Walker. Also present – John Broux, Altamont News; Charles Mills, Effingham Daily News; Michael Tappendorf, Milano & Grunloh; and Sarah Stephen, City Clerk. Commissioner Todd Slingerland was absent.
The Omnibus Vote Agenda comprised of prior meeting minutes and payment of bills, was approved on a motion by Commissioner Walker and seconded by Commissioner Milleville. Members voted as follows: Commissioner Milleville, yes; Commissioner Walker, yes; Commissioner Polk, yes; Mayor Rippetoe, yes. (Attachment 1)
Council approved Application to Maintain Trailer Court by Lemongrass Altmont LLC for Northside Mobile Home Park. Commissioner Polk motioned for approval. Commissioner Walker seconded. Members voted as follows: Commissioner Milleville, yes; Commissioner Walker, yes; Commissioner Polk, yes; Mayor Rippetoe, yes.
Council approved Final Payment to Kieffer Bros Construction, Rt 40 & 128 Water Main Improvements in the Amount of $4,986 contingent of funds released after punch list is completed. Commissioner Walker motioned for approval. Commissioner Polk seconded. Members voted as follows: Commissioner Milleville, yes; Commissioner Walker, yes; Commissioner Polk, yes; Mayor Rippetoe, yes.
Commissioner Walker reported a damaged transformer was replaced at ADM.
Commissioner Milleville reported McGinnis Wildlife is setting traps and three moles have been caught. Monitoring continues. Diamond D has been renovated, reseeded and the berm removed. Fields A&B will be monitored in the spring. Roof replacement of the outbuilding were quoted as shingle $5,950 and metal $7650. After Council discussion, it was suggested shingles be replaced with the price difference used for overhead door replacement. Commissioner Milleville mentioned utilizing the building as a multi storage facility for the leagues. Arbor Day planting was held with four memorial trees planted in Schmidt Park in memory of Garden Club members. The City contributed a tree in Schmidt and Heritage parks. He thanked the Altamont Garden Club for coordinating the event.
Commissioner Polk reported he was checking on more tree planting for this fall.
Council entered into Executive Session for the Purpose of Setting Sale Price for Sale of Property 5ILCS 120/2 (c) (6) on a motion by Commissioner Polk and seconded by Commissioner Milleville. Members voted as follows: Commissioner Milleville, yes; Commissioner Walker, yes; Commissioner Polk, yes; Mayor Rippetoe, yes. No action was taken as a result of Executive Session.
The meeting was adjourned on a motion by Commissioner Walker and seconded by Commissioner Polk. Members voted as follows: Commissioner Milleville, yes; Commissioner Walker, yes; Commissioner Polk, yes; Mayor Rippetoe, yes.
