Q1 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Shelby County?

There were four offenders living in Shelby County released on parole during the first quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows three men and one woman were released in Shelby County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 41. The youngest parolee was a 29-year-old woman sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2020, and the oldest was a 57-year-old man sentenced for homicide in 2005.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Timothy W. Bush. He was convicted of homicide in 2005 when he was 40 years old. He is now 57.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2021 in each Shelby County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
