A downstate lawmaker worries about what could come next in President Joe Biden’s first term.
“Since Biden became president, gas has increased $1 per gallon, the Keystone Pipeline XL has been shut down, costing thousands of good-paying jobs, U.S. taxpayers are footing the bill for abortions in foreign countries and we are once again at war in the Middle East,” state Rep. Chris Miller (R-Oakland) posted on Facebook. “And this is just the first five weeks into his presidency. What will the country look like after years of the most progressive president in American history?"
The husband of U.S. Rep. Mary Miller, Rep. Chris Miller is a two-term lawmaker who was in Washington for then-President Donald Trump’s Jan. 6 speech. He later came under heavy criticism when a decal from of a far-right militia group was spotted on his truck parked at the U.S. Capitol.
