City of Martinsville City Council Met Feb. 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

*The meeting was called to order by Mayor Davidson, Alderman Lovell opened the meeting with prayer and all-in attendance recited the “Pledge of Allegiance”. Roll call was answered by the following council members and elected officials: Chris Perry, Melinda Lovell, Troy Propst, John Skinner and Preston Rukes with Chris Davidson absent. Also, in attendance were Mayor Herman Davidson, Clerk Marlene Wilhoit and attorney Richard Bernardoni. Employees and citizens in attendance are attached to the back of the minutes.

PUBLIC COMMENTS: 

NONE

*Motion by J Skinner 2nd by C Perry to approve minutes of council meeting from 01/27/2021 and utility committee meeting dated 02/01/2021

Upon roll call vote all alderman present voted for the motion (5)

*Motion by M Lovell 2nd by T Propst to approve the Treasurer report as presented. 

Upon roll call vote all alderman present voted for the motion (5)

*Motion by T Propst 2nd by J Skinner to approve January 2021 bills payable February 2021 in the amount of $130,553.03.

Upon roll call vote all alderman present voted for the motion (5)

*Motion by T Propst 2nd by J Skinner to approve Ordinance # 2021-2-1 titled: “An Ordinance Extending Clark County Enterprise Zone Property Tax Abatements.”

Upon roll call vote all alderman present voted for the motion (5)

COUNCIL COMMENTS:

-utility committee considering applying to the Linn Foundation Grant for a mower

-utility committee considering possibly raising surcharge fees

-questioned again about the building that is still standing on the property at the west edge of city limits that Truelove is cleaning up and again advised that all buildings are to be removed

With no other comments:

**Motion by J Skinner 2nd by T Propst to adjourn the meeting @ 7:10 PM. All council members present voted for the motion. (5)
