CITY OF CASEY: Notice For Gas Customer Expected Cost Of Natural Gas For Month of February

Gasline

City of Casey issued the following announcement on Feb. 20.

The City of Casey has been notified that the expected cost of natural gas for the month of February will be approximately $5.62/dekatherm or $.562/therm.  This is almost double what the PGA (Purchased Gas Adjustment) charge usually is.

Fortunately, for Casey gas customers 75% of the city’s gas volume for the month was locked in at the price of $2.90/dekatherm or $.290/therm. Had we not locked in that volume of gas your charges could have been quadrupled with an estimated price of $10.00/dekatherm or $1.00/therm.

Please remember these prices are an estimate, they may still change. We will keep you updated as we get more information.

Please note: due to our billing cycle, gas customers won't see this rate increase until you receive your April 1st bill. Your March 1st bill may be higher due to more usage because of below freezing temperatures, but not due to the projected rate increase.
