City of Marshall City Council met September 28

City of Marshall City Council met Sept. 28.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order at 6:30 P.M., with Mayor John Trefz presiding. Upon roll call, all council members were present except Wallace. Wallace joined remotely. Green made a motion, seconded by LeFever, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as written. Upon roll call, all council members voted for. Motion carried. Public Comment: Marshall Resident Dave Taylor spoke about Home Rule Community research he had done.

New Business: None

Wallace made a motion, seconded by Smitley, to approve the Collection, Treasurer’s, Building and Police Reports for August 2020. Upon roll call, all council members voted for. Motion carried. Smitley made a motion, seconded by LeFever, to approve the purchase of a Hydro Excavator from Vermeer in the amount of $141,243.00. Upon roll call, all council members voted for. Motion carried. Green made a motion, seconded by Smitley, to approve the street closing request from the Marshall Junior High Bank for Tuesday, September 29, 2020. Upon roll call, all council members voted for.

Motion carried.

Sanders made a motion, seconded by LeFever, to approve the street closing request from Harlow’s Diner for Saturday, October 24, 2020. Upon roll call, all council members voted for. Motion carried. LeFever made a motion, seconded by Green to pay the bills in the amount of $644,019.62. Upon roll call, all members voted for. Motion carried.

LeFever made a motion, seconded by Green to adjourn. Upon roll call, all council members voted for. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:42 P.M.
