Q1 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Coles County?

There were 31 offenders released on parole during the first quarter of 2020 that live in Coles County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Coles County were men. Of the parolees, two were veterans, and the median age was 38. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2017, and the oldest was a 61-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2010.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was William Bigeck. He was convicted of homicide in 1998 when he was 20 years old. He is now 42.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2020 in each Coles County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
