City of Flora issued the following announcement on Sept. 27.
The City of Flora announces Trick-or-Treat will be Friday, October 30th between 6:00 p.m.
and 8:00 p.m.
This will be at your discretion if you choose to participate. If residents want to hand out
candy, turn your porch light on. It will be at the parents’ discretion on whether they choose
to take their children to these places.
Please make sure all children are accompanied by an adult.
Businesses and Churches who choose to have trunk or treat will be at their own discretion.
Masks and social distancing will be necessary.
CDC recommends the following:
Wear a mask at all times when around people who don’t live in your household to reduce
the risk of spreading the virus.
Avoid singing, chanting, or shouting, especially when not wearing a mask and within 6
feet of others.
Do not use a costume mask (such as for Halloween) as a substitute for a
cloth mask unless it is made of two or more layers of breathable fabric that covers your
mouth and nose and doesn’t leave gaps around your face.
Do not wear a costume mask over a cloth mask because it can be dangerous if the
costume mask makes it hard to breathe. Instead, consider using a Halloween-themed
cloth mask.
Please refer to the cdc.gov and coronavirus.Illinois.gov website for a complete listing of all
their recommendations.
The City of Flora will officially approve Trick-or-Treat at its next City Council Meeting on
October 5, 2020.
This is subject to change at any time due to Governor’s orders.
