Lamotte Township Fire Protection District responded to 12 calls in 2018 - 40 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Lamotte included 12 fires - eight structure fires, one vehicle fire and three other fires.

In all, the department saw $59,000 in fire loss - or about $4,917 per fire.
