City of Olney issued the following announcement on Aug. 26.
Kelsie Sterchi, City Clerk of the City of Olney, has announced that the necessary nomination papers for the offices of Mayor and two Council members for the 2021 Municipal Election are now available in the Office of the City Clerk, 300 S. Whittle Avenue, Olney, Illinois. Candidates may file nomination petitions during regular business hours from November 16, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. through November 23, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. at the front counter in the Office of the City Clerk.
Should a simultaneous lottery/lotteries be necessary, the lotteries will be scheduled for Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at 8:30 a.m.
The election to be held in 2021 will be for two Council positions and the Mayor. The Consolidated Primary Election, if necessary, will be held on February 23, 2021. The Consolidated Election will be held on April 6, 2021.
