Q4 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Edgar County?

There were 12 offenders released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2019 that live in Edgar County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows that 10 men and two women were released in Edgar County. The median age of the parolees was 37. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old woman sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2019, and the oldest was a 60-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Justin A. Benton. He was convicted of a crime against a person in 2016 when he was 27 years old. He is now 30.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the fourth quarter of 2019 in each Edgar County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
