Arcola City Council met Feb. 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Ferguson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Alderpersons Huckstep, Smith, Ferguson, Budd and Foran. Alderman Hensley was not present. City Administrator Wagoner, Treasurer Anderson and Attorney Bequette were also present.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Alderwoman Huckstep led the council and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.

PUBLIC COMMENT There was none.

APPROVAL OF FEBRUARY 03, 2020 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

Alderman Foran moved to approve the February 03, 2020 council meeting minutes as presented and was seconded by Alderwoman Ferguson. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

APPROVAL OF FEBRUARY 01, 2020 THROUGH FEBRUARY 14, 2020 BILLS

Alderwoman Huckstep moved to approve the February 01, 2020 – February 14, 2020 bills as presented and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

CONSIDER AND ADOPT FINE SCHEDULE Alderwoman Huckstep moved to adopt the Fine Schedule as presented and was seconded by Alderman Budd. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

CONSIDER AND ADOPT EMPLOYEE HEALTH INSURANCE OPT-OUT POLICY Alderwoman Ferguson moved to adopt Employee Health Insurance Opt-Out Policy and was seconded by Alderman Smith. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

CONSIDER AND APPROVE ORDINANCE NO. 20-S-2, AN ORDINANCE RE- AFFIRMING ORDINANCE NO. 15-S-7, TIF REDEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WITH JACK FLASH PROPERTIES – DEMOLITION AND PURCHASE OF 640 SCHROCK DRIVE (FORMER KNIGHTS INN) Alderman Budd moved to approve Ordinance No. 20-S- 2, as amended, and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Alderwoman Huckstep Had nothing at this time.

Alderman Smith Had nothing at this time.

Alderwoman Ferguson Reported that the Employee Relations

Committee met prior to this meeting and discussed insurance renewal with Blue Cross Blue Shield Illinois. Also discussed the Health Alliance proposal and the opt-out policy for employee health insurance for employees.

Alderman Budd Had nothing at this time.

Alderman Foran Had nothing at this time.

Attorney Bequette stated that at the last hearing regarding building uptown, the judge ordered demolition but also ordered a stay of 60 days.

As this concluded the business of the meeting, Alderwoman Huckstep moved to adjourn and was seconded by Alderman Foran. Roll call vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
