Q2 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Shelby County?

There were six offenders released on parole during the second quarter of 2019 that live in Shelby County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Shelby County were men. The median age of the parolees was 35. The youngest parolee was a 26-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2019, and the oldest was a 46-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Dustin Gillaspie. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2017 when he was 25 years old. He is now 28.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2019 in each Shelby County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
