Q2 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Edgar County?

There were 10 offenders released on parole during the second quarter of 2019 that live in Edgar County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows that seven men and three women were released in Edgar County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 34. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 54-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Derek V. Howard. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2015 when he was 30 years old. He is now 35.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2019 in each Edgar County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
