Shiloh Community Unit School District No. 1 Board of Education met Oct. 21.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

President Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM in the Board of Education room.

Present: Tara Duzan, Renee Henry, Brian Rhode, Aaron Richardson, Dave Smith, Justin Wood

Absent: April Morris

Others Present: Superintendent Dr. Allen Hall, Principal Beth Harbaugh, Terry Sullivan ,Nancy Zemar, Amy Kincaid, Emily Hall, Teresa Hawkins

President Smith welcomed everyone to the meeting.

Richardson moved to approve the following Consent Agenda items:

September 2019 Treasurer's Report

Rhode seconded the motion.

ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS

Principal's Report - Beth Harbaugh

Shiloh and Oakland certified staff met on teacher's institute day for a collaborative meeting. The consensus was positive and an expressed interest in gathering again.

PIP through 5th grade will host a school community event for October 20th to be held at Shiloh. The Pumpkin Palooza will have a variety of fall and pumpkin activities for families to enjoy.

The end of the first quarter was October 10. Honor roll breakfast will be Thursday, October 24. PSAT was given to the juniors on October 16, 2019.

Shiloh has taken students to participate in 16 field trips including elementary, science/biology, FFA and/or student council events off campus from September 23 through October 21. Junior High students that met the first quarter academic/behavioral goal will take a field trip to Eastern Illinois University, Wednesday, October 23, 2019. Shiloh will host the 8th grade girls regional basketball game held the first week in December.

Superintendent's Report - Dr. Allen Hall

Auditor will attend the November meeting to discuss the auditor report.

Resolutions handout for the state school board convention. Will discuss at the next meeting.

Has received printout from Douglas County Assessor but nothing from Edgar County.

Henry moved to approve payment of the bills.

Student disciplinary cases.
