Rep. Bailey Joins 100th Celebration for Illinois Chamber of Commerce
During Rep. Bailey’s trip to the annual meeting of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce in Chicago this week, he was able to meet with the director for the economic division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office who actually made the agreement to purchase $2.2 Billion of soybeans and corn from Illinois farmers.
“I was excited for the opportunity to join in the celebration for the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and having the chance to talk with Director Cheng was also a wonderful opportunity.” commented Rep. Bailey, a member of the Agriculture & Conservation Committee in the Illinois House. I look forward to continue promoting our southern Illinois products and encouraging an expansion of our agriculture economy.”
The theme for this year was a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce. Rep. Bailey encourages everyone to join their local chamber of commerce whether or not they are currently a business owner. Chambers are excellent networking organizations for non-profit groups and educational institutions as well.
