Village of Westfield Village Board met June 3.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Members Present: Bill Fouty, Aaron Hacker, Jim Dollahan, Quincy Blanchard

Members Absent: Nate Evans, Seth Edwards, Scott Adams

Others Present: Supt. Blake Coartney, Julia Gladu, Jeff Gladu, Reporter Gary Strohm,

Attorney Richard Bernardoni

Call to Order: Meeting called to order by Mayor Fouty at 7:00 p.m.

Swearing in New Trustees: Clerk Fouty swore in newly elected trustee Quincy Blanchard

Roll Call: Fouty, present, Adams, absent, Edwards, absent, Evans, absent, Hacker, present, Dollahan, present, Blanchard, present

Pledge of Allegiance: Given

Discuss Appropriations: Attorney Bernardoni discussed the appropriations with the board. Line items were reviewed.

Discuss and Approve A Resolution Ascertaining The Prevailing Rate of Wages For Laborers, Workers and Mechanics Employed In Public Works: Hacker made the motion to accept the Resolution Ascertaining The Prevailing Rate of Wages For Laborers, Workers and Mechanics Employed In Public Works. Dollahan seconded the motion. Fouty, aye, Adams, absent, Edwards, absent, Evans, absent, Hacker, aye, Dollahan, aye, Blanchard, aye. Motion carried. Approved.

Approve May Regular Minutes: Dollahan made motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting. Blanchard seconded the motion. Motion carried. Approved

Approve Payment of Bills: Motion to accept payment of bills was made by Hacker, seconded by Dollahan. Fouty, aye, Adams, absent, Edwards, absent, Evans, absent, Hacker, aye, Dollahan, aye, Blanchard, aye. Motion carried. Approved.

Approve Financial Statement: Hacker made motion to accept the financial statement. Dollahan seconded the motion. Motion carried. Approved.

Approve Transfer of Funds: None

Citizens Comments: Julia and Jeff Gladu were present to ask if properties in the village have been sited.

Discuss and Approve Committee Reports: None

Discuss and Approve Police Report: Report reviewed. Hacker made the motion to approve the police report, Dollahan seconded the motion. Motion carried. Approved.

Discuss and Approve Utility Superintendent’s Report: Report discussed. Hacker made the motion to accept the utility superintendent report. Dollahan seconded the motion. Motion carried. Approved.

Discuss and Approve the Purchase of a Dump Trailer: Discussed. Dollahan made the motion to approve the purchase of a dump trailer with 1⁄2 of the purchasing funds coming from General Fund and 1⁄2 from Water fund. Blanchard seconded the motion. Fouty, aye, Adams, absent, Edwards, absent, Evans, absent, Hacker, aye, Dollahan, aye, Blanchard, aye. Motion carried. Approved.

Discuss and Approve Health Insurance for the Village Superintendent: Dollahan made the motion to approve health insurance for the utility superintendent with the Village paying 80%, 1⁄2 from each of the funds (General and O & M). Fouty, aye, Adams, absent, Edwards, absent, Evans, absent, Hacker, aye, Dollahan, aye, Blanchard, aye. Motion carried. Approved.

Discuss and Approve Demolishing Buildings on State St: Supt. Coartney informed the board that Jeff Shrader has offered to demolish the buildings on State St for $8,000 with the stipulation that Ray Beech signs a waiver and if not, the Village moves forward to condemn the building. Dollahan made the motion to accept the bid from Shrader and to agree to have Beech sign a waiver. If Beech doesn’t then the Village will move forward on July 1 with condemnation. Hacker seconded the motion. Motion carried. Approved.

Adjourn Meeting: Blanchard made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:51 p.m. Dollahan seconded the motion. Motion carried. Approved.
