Q4 2018 Recap: Parolees in Richland County convicted of drug crimes

There were six offenders convicted of drug crimes released on parole in Richland County during the fourth quarter of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the East Central Reporter.

The data shows that three men and three women were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for drug crimes was 42. The youngest parolee was a 35-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 56-year-old woman sentenced in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Michael R. Voyles. He was convicted in 2015 when he was 37 years old. He is now 40.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of drug crimes were paroled during the fourth quarter of 2018 in each Illinois county.
