City

City of Martinsville City Council met March 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Roll call was answered by the following council members and elected officials: Chris Davidson, Melinda Lovell, Troy Propst, John Skinner and David Doran with Mike Cribelar absent. Also in attendance were Mayor HermanDavidson, Clerk Marlene Wilhoit and Treasurer Melinda Owen. Employees and citizens in attendance are attached to the back of the minutes.

**Motion by C Davidson 2nd by T Propst to approve the treasurer reports for October, November and December 2018.

Upon roll call all council members present voted for the motion. (5)

**Motion by C Davidson 2nd by D Doran to approve February 2019 bills payable March 2019 in the amount of $131,116.50.

Upon roll call all council members present voted for the motion. (5)

**Motion by J Skinner 2nd by C Davidson to appoint Brad Webb to the Summer Recreation Committee. Upon roll call all council members present voted for the motion. (5)

COUNCIL COMMENTS:

Chris Davidson voiced his concern with the new minimum wage laws and how they might affect the city.

John Skinner questioned if we were hiring summer help again this year and need to start planning now.

David Doran is still working on pricing computers for an upgrade to the city collectors and possibly one other one.

Mayor Davidson announced about the Clark County Bicentennial celebration at the Clark County Courthouse on March 29th from 9AM-1PM.

.the cub cadet mower is at the Linn garage and need to think about what we need to do with it and possibly also the JD 1145

.the roof on the Gas Department office will need replaced soon

.the annual Chamber of Commerce dinner is April 9th @ 6PM and a head count is needed by the 14th of March

**Motion by D Doran 2nd by C Davidson to adjourn meeting @ 7:35PM. 

Upon roll call all council members present voted for the motion. (5)
