City of Martinsville City Council met March 27.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Roll call was answered by the following council members and elected officials: Chris Davidson, Melinda Lovell and John Skinner with Troy Propst, David Doran and Mike Cribelar absent. Also in attendance were Mayor HermanDavidson, Clerk Marlene Wilhoit and Treasurer Melinda Owen. Employees and citizens in attendance are attached to the back of the minutes.

**Motion by J Skinner 2nd by M Lovell to approve the treasurer reports for January and February 2019. Upon roll call all council members present including the mayor voted for the motion. (4)

**Motion by J Skinner 2nd by C Davidson to approve Ordinance 2019-3-1 titled; “An Ordinance to Approve the Editing and Inclusion of Certain Ordinances as Parts of the Various Component Codes of the Codified Ordinances.” Upon roll call all council members present including the mayor voted for the motion. (4)

**Council has agreed to send applications to the High School for 2 positions for youth summer help to work from June1,2019throughAugust2,2019. Applications need to be turned in by April 24, 2019.

** Motion by M Lovell 2nd by C Davidson to adopt into policy the “written exposure-control compliance plan of respirable crystalline silica policy & procedures”.

Upon roll call all council members present including the mayor voted for the motion. (4)

COUNCIL COMMENTS

The cub cadet mower was brought up again as whether to sell it sealed bids or take to auction. Attorney will prepare an ordinance for next meeting.

Pot holes around town were mentioned and Mayor advised they would get to them as soon as they can. Spring cleanup is scheduled for April 9th

Clark County Bicentennial program at Clark County Courthouse Friday March 29th from 9-1 Martinsville’s “A Spark of History” Sunday, March 31st from 12-5 at Township Community Bldg. Chamber of Commerce dinner on April 9th @ 6PM @ Miss Barlow’s

County Economic Development meeting @ Casey City Hall on April 23rd @ 6PM
