Q3 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Edgar County?

There were eight offenders released on parole during the third quarter that live in Edgar County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by East Central Reporter.

The data shows that seven men and one woman were released in Edgar County. The median age of the parolees was 44. The youngest parolee was a 29-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2016, and the oldest was a 65-year-old woman sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2013.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Joseph A. Gross. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2008 when he was 50 years old. He is now 60.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the third quarter in each Edgar County municipality.
