Analysis: Flora administrators rank 745th in state for average pay

Administrators in Flora Community Unit School District 35 earn an average of $81,713 per year, ranking 745th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 4.1% lower than in 2014 and 5.4% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 23.8% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Clay County school district enrolled 1394 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 174 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
