Administrators in Clay City Community Unit School District 10 earn an average of $102,824 per year, ranking 351st out of 864 districts in the state, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 11% higher than in 2014 and 66.2% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 4.2% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Clay County school district enrolled 328 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 164 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
