City of Martinsville City Council mey January 23

City of Martinsville City Council met Jan. 23.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Roll call was answered by the following council members and elected officials: Chris Davidson, Melinda Lovell, Troy Propst, John Skinner and David Doran with Mike Cribelar absent. Also in attendance were Mayor HermanDavidson, Clerk Marlene Wilhoit and Treasurer Melinda Owen. Employees and citizens in attendance are attachedto the back of the minutes.

** No Treasurer’s report was presented. The Treasurer is working with the auditors to get everything caught up and will have a full report at the February meeting.

**Bill Burke of United Country Auction Services in Robinson Illinois addressed council about his plan to hold a one day governmental auction and is inviting the area governmental units to participate if interested.

**Nick Sibenaller with Gilbert, Metzger & Madigan Accounting presented the FY2018 audit and briefly went through it for council noting if there are any questions feel free to contact them.

PUBLIC COMMENTS:

Melinda Owen stated that she has officially submitted her resignation from her position as Treasurer effective 5/31/19. This will allow her to have all reconciliations and journal entries necessary to close out the fiscal year. She has someone that will be working with her in the next month that might be willing to take over her position. If that replacement doesn’t work out council will have through May of 2019 to find a replacement to finish the term through April of 2021.

With no other Public Comments:

**Motion by C Davidson 2nd by M Lovell to adjourn meeting @ 7:20PM. 

Upon roll call all council members present voted for the motion. (5)
