Report: Beecher City spent $10,666 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Beecher City Community Unit School District 20 is up 7.4 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Effingham County school district spent $9,935 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,666 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 338 to 295.

Beecher City's spending in 2017-18 was 20 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
