Report: Richland County spent $9,534 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Richland County Community Unit School District 1 is up 1.7 percent from five years ago, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Richland County school district spent $9,371 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,534 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 2119 to 2390.

Richland County's spending in 2017-18 was 28.5 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
