CITY OF FLORA: City of Flora/Gateway Regional Water Co. Switching to Free Chlorines

City of Flora issued the following announcement on Nov. 5.

Beginning November 7, 2018 Gateway Regional Water Co. will begin a modified disinfection process using Free Chlorine instead of Chloramines for our predominant water disinfectant. This transition will be completed in about a week. Customers with health issues should contact their physicians with any health related questions. Beginning December 19, 2018 Gateway Regional Water Co. will switch back from Free Chlorine residual to our normal Chloramines’ residual for our predominant water disinfectant. This transition back to chlorine and ammonia treatment will be completed in about a week. Customers with health issues should contact their physicians with any health related questions.

Customers on Gateway Regional Water Company are: Village of Alma; Clay County Water; Village of Farina; Fayette Water Company; City of Flora; FMC Water Co.; Village of Iuka; City of Kinmundy; NEMC Water Co.; Village of Patoka; Raccoon Water Co.; Village of Vernon; Western Wayne Water Co.; and Village of Xenia.
