Shiloh Community Unit School District 1 students suspended 46 times in a single school year

Shiloh Community Unit School District 1 reported 46 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 46 students during the year. That equates to 11.1 percent of the 413 students enrolled.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 26 incidents. There were two incidents of violence without physical injury. For 23 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 17 incidents. There were one incidents of drugs. For eight incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
