This portion of the City Council meeting is reserved for persons who desire to address the Council. The Illinois Open Meetings Act mandates that the City Council may NOT take action on comments received on matters that have not been identified on this agenda, but the Council may direct staff to address the topic or refer the matter for action on the agenda for another meeting. Persons addressing the Council are requested to limit their presentations to three minutes and to avoid repetitious comments. We would ask you to state your name for the record as well as stand when speaking.

Motion – Approve Council Decision Request 2018-1870: Approving a $1,000 grant by the Tourism Advisory Committee from FY18/19 hotel/motel tax funds to the Lincoln Log Cabin Foundation in support of hosting the Harvest Frolic to be held September 22-23, 2018; and authorizing the mayor to sign the agreement. 2. Motion – Approve Council Decision Request 2018-1871: Approving a $3,000 grant by the Tourism Advisory Committee from FY18/19 hotel/motel tax funds to the Mattoon Area Family YMCA in support of hosting the Girls on the Run East Central Illinois 5k to be held November 10, 2018; and authorizing the mayor to sign the agreement. 3. Motion – Approve Council Decision Request 2018-1872: Approving a $4,200 grant by the Tourism Advisory Committee from FY18/19 hotel/motel tax funds to the Mattoon High School in support of hosting the Craig Dixon Golf Invite to be held on September 7 and 8, and the Girls Holiday Basketball Tournament to be held on December 27-29, 2018; and authorizing the mayor to sign the agreement. 4. Motion – Approve Council Decision Request 2018-1873: Awarding the bid from Curry Construction in the amount of $2,123,200 for the Water Treatment Plant Clearwell construction project. (Cox)
5. Motion – Approve Council Decision Request 2018-1874: Awarding the bid from AJ Walker Construction in the amount of $124,944.24 for the sidewalk improvements project on Champaign Avenue from 27th Street to 22nd Street. (Graven)
