How much has Cowden-Herrick CUSD 3A overspent over the past 10 years?

Cowden Herrick Community Unit School District 3A accumulated $784,743 in debt between fiscal years 2008 and 2017, according to a East Central Reporter analysis of public schools data.

Spending and revenue data obtained for this analysis comes from the Illinois Local Education Agency Retrieval Network (ILEARN), which is part of the Illinois State Board of Education and collects data annually on school district financials.

Over the 10-year span, Cowden-Herrick CUSD 3A reported 5.7 percent more revenue. At the same time, total spending went down 8 percent.
