Republican candidate Chris Miller is finding a way amid campaigning to promote the upcoming Evening with Oliver North event scheduled for July 19 in Effingham.
Miller recently joined fellow GOP candidate Darren Bailey in a video posted to Facebook where both candidate’s excitement for the North event easily shined through.
Bailey said he, Miller and fellow candidate Blaine Wilhour are all scheduled to be at the event and are hoping it sends the message of how they plan to work together in Springfield to get things done.
"Ecclesiastes 4:12 says 'a court of three cannot be easily broken,'' Bailey said. “We believe that and we want to prove that.”
An Evening with Oliver North will be held at the Thelma Keller Convention Center in Effingham from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets cost $50 for general admission and $250 for VIP admission.
In another post, Miller, running against Democrat Shirley Bell to represent the 110th District, posed with three men surrounding a truck wrapped in a Veterans Support Coalition banner.
“These American heroes made it possible to celebrate Independence Day,” he wrote. “It was an honor to spend time with them.”
