Moweaqua Central Fire Protection District responded to 27 calls in 2017 - 6.9 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Moweaqua included 18 fires - nine structure fires, one vehicle fire and eight other fires.

In all, the department saw $50,010 in fire loss - or about $2,778 per fire.

The department also received nine false calls, including one malicious call and eight other false calls.

The Moweaqua Central Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $59,795 in 2017.
