Arcola FPD responds to five fires in 2017

Arcola Fire Protection District responded to eight calls in 2017 - 57.9 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Arcola included five fires - two structure fires, one vehicle fire and two other fires.

In all, the department saw $5,700 in fire loss - or about $1,140 per fire.

The department also received three false calls.

The Arcola Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $120,784 in 2017.
