Oblong Fire Protection District responded to 31 calls in 2017 - 40.9 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.
The calls in Oblong included 24 fires - 13 structure fires, two vehicle fires and nine other fires.
In all, the department saw $78,700 in fire loss - or about $3,279 per fire.
The department also received seven false calls.
