Lamotte Township Fire Protection District responded to 20 calls in 2017 - 17.6 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Lamotte included 19 fires - 11 structure fires, one vehicle fire and seven other fires.

In all, the department saw $63,500 in fire loss - or about $3,342 per fire.

The department also received one false call.

The calls resulted in two civilian fire-related injuries and one civilian fire-related death.
