North Clay FPD responds to 23 fires in 2017

North Clay Fire Protection District responded to 34 calls in 2017 - 17.2 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in North Clay included 23 fires - 13 structure fires, four vehicle fires and six other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $71,800 in fire loss - or about $3,122 per fire.

The department also received 10 false calls, including one malicious call and nine other false calls.

The North Clay Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $50,151 in 2016.
