Mattoon Public Library Board of Trustees met May 14.
Here is the minutes as provided by the board:
Board Members Present: Dean, Grady, Glenn, Rankin, Bullock, Kimberlin,
Bradbury, and Karpus
Board Members Absent: Ray
Staff Present: Walworth and Nonaas
Consent Agenda: Bills, Treasurer’s Report, Circulation Report, Minutes from
April 2018. Motion made to accept Consent Agenda by Karpus, second by Grady.
Motion Carried.
Committee Report: None
Director’s Report: Sent out in advance for review. We are positioned well for the
Summer Read Program. Flyers are available and have been provided to both
Williams and Riddle schools. Kickoff week is May 21-25 with lots of giveaways.
We received some funds from Personal Property Replacement taxes that will be
used for replacing books from the 80’s that are checked out repeatedly. Movies in
the park schedules are available and were included in the report. We are looking at
having a program on Railroad history soon.
Discussion: A new hire just started working with us through CEFS with good
potential. Submit any potential board recommendations you may have to Carl or
Clay. These will go to the Mayor/City Council for approval.
Action Item: Motion was made to approve the revised GL accounts by Grady,
second by Karpus. Motion Carried.
Adjournment: Motion by Grady, second by Kimberlin. Motion Carried.
